Welcome to the official web site of the smashing new book ANXIETIES IN THE OUTHOUSE The Diarya of an Appalachian Man by R. Eugene Wallace
There are hundreds of books on humor, but nothing quite like the wit of the Appalachian man. Robert Wallace was born in sleepy picturesque Gallipolis, Ohio in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Growing up in Gallipolis, where everyone knew you and your business presented a unique flavor to life and added some wit and charm of it’s own. It was here Wallace developed his writing and story-telling skills. Little did he realize these experiences would become the “good old days”. Travel back in time with R. Eugene Wallace and relive some tragic and humorous moments of life in the “slow lane”. Experience the depth of the root system of the Appalachians and the life of a simple, honest and sometimes funny man as he meanders through the forest of life as if taking a stroll down a country lane.

TESTIMONIALS
I thoroughly enjoyed reading “Anxieties In The Outhouse”. The story, “A Great Win, A Great Loss” touched my heart and brought me to tears. A delightfully humorous book. Lynn Murnahan RNC
I found myself experiencing a wide array of emotions, from sadness to joy. This is an easy read and very enjoyable. I highly recommend it. Bob Murnahan, owner Harmony Studios
The book is a delightful read - truly hard to put down. "The Diarya" is an amazing collection of short stories, essays, poetry and photographs. In addition to being a "keeper' the book would make a much appreciated gift. Richard B. Long President Emeritus, Columbus International Film & Video Festival Adjunct Associate Professor, The Ohio State University
"Anxieties in the Outhouse" represents the many facets of R. Eugene Wallace, a man with as many talents as Carter used to have Liver Pills. The title refers to the sweet, sometimes painful reminiscences of growing up in small town Ohio, complete with outhouses and a one-room school. For the nostalgia buff, his stories are good fun, full of poignant memories. But Wallace is an artist as well, and the reader will find poetry, gorgeous photographs and bursts of creative writing as well, a swell read, very diverse, and very satisfying. Mary Keating, Ed.D. Executive Director Ventura College Foundation
